Venue of the IVS General Meeting (April 13. - 15., 2026)
The IVS General Meeting will be at the Congress House of Garnisch-Partenkirchen (GaPa-Convention).
We will meet in the Richard-Strauss Concert Hall (Rooms). Coffee breaks will be served in the foyer of the Richard-Strauss Concert Hall.
There is a nice virtual tour through the Congress Hall, so that you already can virtually walk through the meeting hall. You can do the tour here.
We will offer coffee, tea, beverages and some hand-food during the coffee breaks from Adlwärth Gastronomie GmbH
Splinter meetings
Splinter meetings can be hold between 18:00-20:00 o'clock in the Richard-Strauss Concert Hall (with presentation technique) and in parallel in the foyer (without presentation technique). We don't have separate rooms for the meetings.

Lunch options
Because lunch is not included to workshop fees, we did not make reservations. Therefore, please you own options from several possibilities around the congress house. All options can be found here GaPa-Tourismus page. A close option is Pavillon Adlwärth.
Venue of the IVS Analysis Workshop (April 16., 2025; limit of max. 70 participants)
We want to offer you a special experience to the future location of the new Wetterstein Millimeter Telescope. Therefore, we plan the IVS Analysis Workshop to be hold on top of the Zugspitze mountain in the Environmental Research Station Schneefernerhaus.
But we have some restrictions because of the limited space there. Therefore, we only can accept 70 participants. We will send invitations to the analysts and fill up with interested people. All of you will get an invitation letter from the LOC.
You will get coffee, tea and beverages at the Schneefernerhaus included in the workshop fees. It is planned to also offer a special vouchers to get meals for reduced prices at the restaurant on top of the Zugspitze mountain. You can redeem this voucher after the workshop.
Please do not be sad if you cannot attend the Analysis Workshop. We will offer a special social program. This will enable you to independently undertake a mountain tour to the plateau on which the new telescope will be built. Please take a look into our social program.
We will have to follow a special way to get to this special location. We will offer special vouchers for round-trip transportation to and from the Zugspitze mountain.
We will bring you lunch boxes to the Zugspitzbahn trauin station thanks to the flexibility of the Garmischer Hof, preparing the boxes (the lunch boxes are just for participants of the analysis workshop, because they have no chance to go to a restaurant).
We arranged special lunch boxes prepared by the Biohotel & Restaurant Garmischer Hof. Please fecth you box before the trip here between 7:00 and 7:15 o'clock.

Our way to the venue
We are very please that we were able to hire a complete special train of the cog railway from the Zugspitzbahn. We will start at train station of the Zugspitzbahn at Garmisch-Partenkirchen (attention: train station of the Zugspitzbahn, not the regular railway station) at 7:39 o'clock. The train brings us directly to the Research Station Schneefernerhaus within about 1.5 hours. We can start the workshop at about 09:00 o'clock. We will be almost independent from weather situations using the train.

If you missed the train, please inform us and make your own way there using trains (the cable cars are under maintenance, see Zugspitzbahn webpage). Timetables and information can be found on the webpages of the Zugspitzbahn. But you will have to use the special UFS cable car for the last small part.
We will offer coffee, tea, beverages during the coffee breaks and also some hand-food during lunch break offered by the team of the Schneefernerhaus.
Our way back
We will use the same special train of the cog railway on our way back. Departure at the Research Station Schneefernerhaus is 17:00 o'clock. Then we are back at Garmisch-Partenkirchen after about 1.5 hours at about 18:30 o'clock.

If we end up earlier with the workshop and the weather is good we might find a way to give you also a summit experience. But this is not yet decided.
Additional suggestion: Please speak to your hotel to see if they can provide an early breakfast, as we need to start the day so early due to the special location.
Venue of the IVS Directing Board (April 17th, 2026; only invited participants)
The venue of the IVS Directing Board meeting is again the Congress House of Garnisch-Partenkirchen (GaPa-Convention). The Directing Board decided to stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen instead of going up again to Zugspitze mountain to safe traveling time.
We will meet in the Pflegersee room (Rooms). Coffee breaks will be served in the foyer of the Pflegersee room or inside.
There is a nice virtual tour through the Congress Hall, so that you already can virtually walk through the meeting hall. You can do the tour here. The room is not in the general map. Just go downstairs in the foyer of the Richard-Strauss Concert Hall and then you can do the tour into the rooms.
